Swiss Rat for Endopeel Study in Japan

Study realized at Akita University School of Medicine of Sapporo together with Kyoto Pathological Research Institute in 2006-2007.

Muscle Contraction and Muscular Tonus Control

Muscle Contraction Amplitude & Muscle Tone Control

  • on the abscissa we measure the muscle tone
  • on the ordinate the amplitude of contraction of the same muscle

During the control phase,the gastrocnemius of this swiss mouse has normal amplitude of contractions at normal frequency .

Then we will apply a 1 st chemical stimulation injecting in the gastrocnemius 0.05 ml of a saline isotonic solution ( NaCl 0.9%- 0.05 ml)

Differences between Electrical & Chemical Stimulation of the Muscle

Physiology has demonstrated that a chemical stimulation ( NaCl 0.9%) and an electrical stimulation on the muscle lead to similar results.

  • the muscle tone is identical for both stimulations
  • the amplitude of contraction is identical for both stimulations
5 minutes after 1 st endopeel injection of 0.05 ml

  • The muscle Tone didnt change
  • the amplitude of contraction of the muscle has increased

Interpretation: The amplitude of contraction did increase not because of Endopeel, but just because it is a chemical stimulation of the muscle ( like with NaCl ).

15 min after 1 st endopeel injection of 0.05 ml

  • the muscle tone didnt change
  • the amplitude of contraction has decreased.

Interpretation : the Amplitude of contraction decreased because the quantity injected of Endopeel Solution is too low ( 0.05ml).

2nd-endopeel-injection

2nd Endopeel Injection of 0.05 ml

5 minutes after the 2 nd injection of 0.05 ml

  • The muscle Tone level increased 
  • the amplitude of contraction of the muscle decreased.

Interpretation: 
Do not confuse muscle tone and amplitude of contraction.

Unlike the botulinum toxin which paralyzes the muscle which can no longer contract, Endopeel doesnt harm the muscle and decreases the amplitude of contraction of the muscle without paralyzing it (botulinum effect) but restores the muscle to its lost tone.

Conclusion :

Endopeel is very useful for reducing the amplitude of contraction of the depressor muscles of the lower third of the face without paralyzing or atrophying them.

Endopeel restores muscle tone, which is very interesting for anti aging treatments and also in case of atrophied or paralyzed muscles.
